It’s a good drink at masking the base bourbon and is very simple to make. The combination of apricot brandy and bourbon is surprisingly delicious.

Mindbogglingly, this drink is different to the Kentucky Colonel. You’ll probably have to spell it out if you want to order it at a bar.

Kentucky Kernel Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 measures of bourbon
  • 1/2 measure apricot brandy
  • 1 measure grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 measure grenadine

How to Make a Kentucky Kernel

  1. Combine all ingredients and shake in a cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
  2. Pour into a rocks glass without straining.
