Glendronach

Lots of whisky makers try and slip in their sherry, with a couple of years of ageing after spending most of the maturation in a bourbon barrel. Not Glendronach. Glendronach has always been a big, dark sherried whisky maker. Spending a number of years in exile due to mismanagement and changes of ownership, since 2008 the Glendronach distillery has been pumping out some classy whiskies.

Founded in 1826, the Glendronach distillery was bought by Teachers in 1960. The BenRiach Distillery Company took over in 2008 and returned the distillery to being a great producer again. Their 12, 15 and 18 year olds are their main whiskies.
