The Gall Bracer is a lesser known whiskey cocktail that might just be lesser known for a reason. After all, cocktails were originally intended to mask the flavor of the alcohol to allow for easier consumption. The Gall Bracer, like its name, is blunt and powerful. It combines bourbon or rye whiskey with Angostura bitters and grenadine.
Describing the taste of a Gall Bracer is difficult, but trying to mentally combine the tastes of pomegranate, bitters and whiskey will get you pretty close. The trick in making a good Gall Bracer is having top notch ingredients, especially the grenadine, otherwise the flavors will not meld well at all.
