The Loch Ness cocktail is definitely not one of the sweeter ones on our whisky cocktail list. Rather than being mysterious and elusive, like its namesake, it comes right at you and punches you in the face. This Scottish cocktail contains Pernod, a French liqueur with a liquorice flavor.
Loch Ness Cocktail Ingredients
- 1 & 1/2 measures Scotch whisky
- 1 measure Pernod
- 1/4 measure red vermouth
If you have trouble finding Pernod, you could try Ricard, Ouzo, Pastis or Sambuca, which all share an aniseed taste.
How To Make a Loch Ness Cocktail
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker
- Shake for 30 seconds
- Pour without straining in to an old fashioned glass
